purchasing pay-per-view units, which begin at £6.95 GBP.

Is a subscription better for you?
Whilst pay-per-view units are an ideal way of getting started and dipping in and out of records, many of our customers have found that they enjoy more freedom from one of our three subscription options.
These subscriptions allow unlimited access to the records that they cover for the duration of the subscription. Learn how they could save you money 
Using units
Each time you view a record or image as a pay-per-view customer, units will be deducted from your account. The amount varies between records for details you can view our unit usage guide. These costs are also detailed on the search results pages.
Once paid for you can view, print and save image pages.
Units all have an expiry date, however if you purchase a new subscription or price plan before the expiry of the outstanding one, your remaining units will be carried forward to your new expiry date.

Online payment
You can buy units online using a credit or debit card. This takes place on a secure server and all transactions are encrypted between your browser and our servers. Nobody is able to obtain either your credit card details or any other information. No financial details are retained on our servers, and such details are never sent by e-mail.
Findmypast.com has a sophisticated online trading system, which makes use of DataCash. This allows us to safely process your credit card payment with your bank, and complete the financial transactions securely behind protected firewalls.

Your credit or debit card is charged before you can view a page.
You can click 'My Account' at any time to see the status of your account and the number of units remaining.
There is an alternative payment method for customers who prefer not to use their credit and debit cards on the web.
In addition to the fully secure online payment technology that is already on the site, you can now choose to add your payments to your BT phone bill or by a Direct Debit payment.

Vouchers
As well as buying units online via our website, you can also purchase vouchers that can be redeemed on our website. Vouchers are available in denominations of £5. Once you redeem a £5 voucher on findmypast.com, your account will be credited with 50 units that will last for 90 days. For further details please see our vouchers page.
